Goodbye USA, Hello Sweden

I flew out from St. Louis at 1pm cst. Everything went great with that flight and arrived in Washington DC with enough time to find my next gate and meet my new teammate and roommate, Meghan Sherman. I made my last minute phone calls to my family and some friends before leaving the USA at 515pm est. The 8-hour flight went very smoothly minus the fact that I did not sleep the whole time. But on a positive I finished my book, and began reading a new book on my new Kindle that my parents got me as an early birthday present. We arrived safe and sound at 7am Swedish time, which is 7 hours ahead of cst. My bag was one of the very first bags to come out on the belt. Both of Meghan’s bags come out. Things are great, right? Well, I had two bags… We waited and waited at the baggage claim until our flight was no longer on the screen anymore. So I had to go to the baggage claim desk to report it. I filled out my information and have been checking often online to see if they have found it. No luck so far! Oh and this is not the first time that this has happened to me. The very first time I came to Europe they lost my bag on the way over. I went the whole week and a half in Europe with nothing. I did not get my bag back for another 4 months. Please pray that it does not end up that way this time!
Jocke and our teammate, Malin, were anxiously waiting for us outside since we didn’t get out there until an hour after we were supposed to because of the whole bag issue. It was about a 2-hour car ride from Copenhagen, Denmark, to Ljungby, Sweden. They gave us a little tour of Ljungby, and by little I mean little. The town is very small. It is probably about a maximum 20-minute walk to anywhere we want to go. Our apartment is not ready yet for us to move in so we are staying in Malin’s apartment for the time being. We went to the restaurant for lunch where we will be eating lunch every Monday-Friday. The food was good, and there is fresh veggies and salad, which were great! We went back to Malin’s apartment. Meghan and I both passed out within minutes of sitting on the couch. Three hours later, we woke up, and some of other teammates came over to meet us. Everyone was super excited that we were finally here, and they were all very nice. Also everyone speaks great English! Some are nervous to speak English with us, but they all do a great job anyways. This was our first day in Sweden!
