Well Hello There

I am here to admit that I have been failing BIG time with my blog! I have an excuse... I have not been enjoying volleyball that much. The main reason: we have won 2 of our last 14 matches. We had some matches where we played really well and fought hard, but that hasn't been the case recently. We have lost 3-0 for the past month. Since volleyball is the main reason that I am even here, I have been struggling a little bit. No one has been enjoying it, and we have lost sight of the accomplishments we have made this season.
Last night really helped to change all of this. Our coaches saw that we were not having fun playing anymore, and that it was really effecting our level of play. So they let us have a fun practice last night! We started practice by watching a picture slide show from our season. It was fun to see our ugly faces in the action shots and our happy faces in the cheering pictures. In the gym, all we did was play fun games! We started by playing cross-court. My team won all 3 of those games!!! Next, we split up into teams of 2 to play half court doubles. I was paired with Selma (one of our liberos). We won our first 2 games, but we lost to Meghan and Lisa in the 3rd round. This made both of the teams 2-1 so we had to have another round for the championship. It was a very intense game, but Selma and I won!!! We also got a prize for winning! :)
It was really nice to play volleyball and just have fun. I don't remember the last time that had happened. Tonight we are not having a normal practice either. Instead, we are all participating in a dance/exercise class! I think this is the little break that our team has needed to be ready to push through the rest of the season. We have one last regular season match on Sunday against the #1 team in the league. It will be a really tough match, but then it is on to playoffs! It is amazing that we have made playoffs in our team's premier season in this league.
I am now ready to compete hard for the rest of the season!!!

Best. Christmas. Present. Ever.

Remember when I told you that I received the best Christmas present ever this year? Well, I can finally tell you what I got!!!
When I arrived in Paris and met the Milligan family, Mrs. Milligan told me that she was instructed to give me this gift as soon as she saw me! After I opened it, I started crying immediately. They were tears of joy. Instead of telling you what I got, I will just show you instead!

In case you still don't understand... I am going to be an aunt again! And this time, a Godmother as well!!! I cannot wait! My sister is due on July 14th. Congrats to Jessica and Luke and soon to be big brother Noah! I love you all so much! <3

Fish Tacos

Last Friday night, I had the team over for dinner. Not everyone was able to make it, but the majority of the team was there still. Ljungby has a tradition of eating tacos on Fridays. The only thing is that they don’t have a true grasp on Mexican food. For the Swedes, tacos are just ground beef. I wish I could take them to a Mexican restaurant in America to show them all the different kinds of tacos and Mexican food. Meghan and I participate in Taco Fridays, but I mix it up and make beef, chicken, or fish tacos. When the Swedes heard about fish tacos, their immediate responses were all ‘what in the world!?’ They had never heard of fish tacos before and thought it was the strangest thing. So I decided to have them all over for dinner and make them fish tacos!
Everyone loved them! They were all asking how I made them step-by-step. One of the spices that I used on the fish is from America. One of the girls asked if she could buy my thing of seasoning! I also made Oreo balls for dessert.
I am happy that everyone enjoyed all the food, and we all had a nice night just hanging out together!
